Hi Just ordered the LKS Audio MH-DA004, which has twin ESS9038 Pro chips. I previously had the MH-DA003, with twin 9018s, which didnt sound great out of the box but really came into its own after some fairly simple modifications (different XO, better op amps, new regulators). The LKS is the first DAC I have ever used that gives my vinyl front end some real competition. I can't compare it to many other DACS because, as I said, I have been listening mostly to vinyl. But there have been many favorable comparisons around the internet comparing to other DACS, some of them quite a bit more expensive.

OK, so the nitty gritty. I have TWO of them in two systems and could not be happier. I had foolishly jumped in and paid even more for a Schiit YGGDRASIL until I received an LKS MH-DA004 and the difference in audio quality was obvious.
